STYLISHLY WRAPPED CHRISTMAS PRESENTS TO PUT THE HEART BACK INTO 2020

This year we need stylishly wrapped Christmas presents like never before. Listen up 2020 - there’s no way you’re going down without a bit of festive glamour

Confession time: I’m a Christmas-aholic. I love everything about this season; the gifts, the decorations, the celebrations, the food and above all, a bit of festive glamour.

There’s no better way to show someone how much you care than picking out something thoughtful and wrapping it up in the most personal way that you can. This year I’m taking inspiration from nature for stylishly wrapped Christmas presents to make things special again.

Get it together before you start wrapping

For me, the perfect base to wrap superb gifts is with a luxury gift wrapping paper in monochrome. Go dramatic with my CURVES wrapping paper or keep it minimal with FEATURES wrap. FEATURES will make a gift look incredible just simply finished with some silky thin black ribbons.

Whatever you choose, get everything you need together before you start wrapping. I’m talking tape, scissors, twine, ribbons, papers and any other decorations. Pour yourself a glass of bubbles, sing along to some Christmas Mariah and turn wrapping into a big night in.

For wrapping gift ideas, take inspiration from nature

Don’t believe anyone that tells you nature is drab in winter. On a short London walk I found sprigs of bright red berries and perfect leaves in brilliant mustard, rusty orange and deep green.

Get outside (it’s good for your brain), collect anything you find that takes your fancy and then come in and lay it all out on a surface. Just look at the shapes and colours in front of you and start to group them into small bunches of whatever feels right. Tie them together with some twine as you go - these are going to become the decorations for the gifts you want to give.

Evergreen shrubs like rosemary (which is also going to smell incredible) or silvery blue eucalyptus will have the best shelf-life to use as sprigs of decoration.

Go for sustainable, recycled papers and shop independent

Hopefully we’ll all get some time off around the 25th - but the planet won’t. Go for sustainable papers that you can recycle and ribbons that you can reuse. My entire range of paper goods is FSC approved and made sustainably right here in the UK to cut down on carbon.

Challenge yourself to shop smaller with independents too. For independent designers and makers, Christmas is a time when you can make a massive difference by voting with your money and literally keep small businesses alive.

No matter what happens in the coming weeks, every day’s still a chance to put a smile on someone’s face and give ‘em the best you’ve got. Christmas is most definitely not cancelled.
